Welcome...

Hands of Hope International is devoted to bringing hope to a hurting world! We do this by providing funds, services, training, materials and equipment for missions and workers in both the United States and the world.

Our primary responsibility is the raising and disbursing of funds for Seeds In HIS Garden, a home and school for AIDS orphans in Nairobi, Kenya. In addition, as funds are available, we seek to assist individuals and organizations working with children at risk all over the world.

Why we do what we do...

In the world today, a privileged few are living on an island of prosperity and pleasure. That island is surrounded by millions of suffering children, who are barely surviving in a sea of poverty and pain. The island is called America, and Americans have the hands to provide hope to a hurting world.

The following is just a small glimpse of our hurting world:

  • 40,000 children die every day from malnutrition and lack of food.
  • Every month 240,000 people in the world die from AIDS.
  • Every 14 seconds a baby becomes an orphan as a result of AIDS.
  • There are 160 million children surviving on the streets of the world.
  • There are 400,000 child prostitutes in India.
  • Every year 7,000 Nepalese children are smuggled into India to work in the sex industry.
  • Bad water is the world’s number one killer. It is the cause of 25,000 deaths every day and 80% of the sickness in the world.
  • There are 500 million cases of malaria each year. Of that number, one million people die - nine tenths of them in Africa.

How we do what we do...

There are always more needs than there are funds, and Hands of Hope International is a faith mission. Therefore, our task is twofold. Our first task is to locate some the greatest needs and to determine who we feel is doing the best workto meet these needs. We do this by looking at the world, not through the eyes of five star hotels, but by visiting the slums, the streets, the clinics, the schools, and the homes in the neediest parts of the world. Our second task is to then tell the story to caring people in America, who are able to make a great difference through generous contributions.

Our overhead is kept at an absolute minimum. We must maintain our office, pay a part-time secretary, and have enough stationery, stamps, and brochures to effectively tell our story. However, anonymous donors have made it possible for us to cover our modest overhead, allowing us to send 100% of contributions directly to meet the needs.
